Ottawa County Road Commission
One Facility, Smarter Systems
Grand Valley Automation provided complete HVAC controls and integrated security systems for the Ottawa County Road Commission’s new facility. Consisting of a main building, cold storage building, and salt storage building, the project became the first phase of Ottawa County’s initiative to standardize building automation and access control across its facilities. The diverse facility required GVA to develop solutions for several distinct environments, from traditional offices and radiant-heated maintenance areas to vehicle storage, ventilation, gas detection, and site security. GVA integrated HVAC controls with CO/NO₂ detection while developing a hybrid security platform combining electronic access control, mobile credentials, and intelligent key technology to provide an audit trail across the property. GVA also developed a custom integration between vehicle credentials and the truck wash, allowing only authorized county vehicles to activate a wash cycle. The completed project established a scalable controls and security foundation designed to make Ottawa County’s facilities safer, easier to manage, and more consistent across its portfolio.
